Christie has me obsessed with crocheted skirts. (Do check out her Violet Beauregard from The Happy Hooker, totally cute.) There’s nothing for it. I have to copy her.
Sadly, my cotton stash consists of neon brights—for baby clothes—and oodles of organic oddballs, so until I can score some nice Tahki Classic or Butterfly, I gotta keep my needles to the knitting-for-hire grindstone. (Don’t y’all be tempting me with Elann, now, ya’hear?)
But a girl’s gotta dream. Here are some crocheted skirts we’d all look dreamy in:
1. Violet Beauregard. See above.
2. Spiderweb Skirt. Very flamenco. Very intimidating.

3. It Girl Pinstriped Pencil Skirt. Sexy, but suitable for the office.

4. Doris Chan’s Walking After Midnight (again, courtesy of Christie). A showstopper from Amazing Crochet Lace.
5. Easy Scalloped Skirt from Crochet Today, Oct./Nov. ‘06.

6. Visit Crochet Pattern Central and search on “skirt“ and you'll receive a plethora of free offerings. There's even a special little number for your sock monkey.
Do you have any crocheted skirts on your hit list?
